I'm turning Japanese, I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so...

Just a little one hit wonder to get your Saturday goin.' I remember hearing this song years ago and I couldn't help but dance to the stupidly catchy lyrics. And so when Kara suggested that we have a 1-Hit Wonder Theme Night at Amy's, I couldn't help but go through the giant list of one hit wonders wikipedia listed off and watch some of the old videos on youtube...there's definitely a lot of 'em out there, that's for sure.

But anyways. Last night was an entire evening of spookiness/creepiness and Chris and I were big babies through it all. The new episode of Ghost Adventures was on, and of course, we couldn't miss that. As cheesy as it may be, it's probably one of our favorite shows, for serious. The guys are all huuuuge bros and kind of douch-y, but it really is a fun show to watch. When C and I first started dating we both realized how much we liked the show, and since then we always get really excited when the weekend gets here and I don't have to work because we love watching the show together.
So as we were getting ready and waiting until we left to go to the movies (we were going to watch Insidious for the 2nd time...because since we didn't get scared enough the first time, of course we have to go watch it ANOTHER time), we watched the new episode of Ghost Adventures in his room - it wasn't as good as some of the other episodes, but still, always fun to watch.
And yes, we did go see Insidious for the second time. That movie was freakin scary as SHIT. Seriously. But then we're also both the biggest babies ever, and even though we'd gone to see the movie in Beaumont a week earlier, we wanted to go again just to see if it would be as scary the second time. Yeppp. It was just as scary. Sigh. I'm supposed to be the one who's allowed to be scared but C's just as big a baby as I am, so we were both hiding behind our eyes for the majority of the movie...even when we knew what was coming. It was still nice though, because even though we were both being big scaredy-cats together, it's always fun to go out with C and spend the evening just being goofy. It's nice to have found someone who can appreciate humor in little things just as much as I do. So it definitely made my night knowing that I could go see this stupidly scary movie twice with him, but yet we both enjoyed our time together out just as much as we did the first time we went to see the movie :) I've got a great guy, ladies and gentleman, and I'm not sure how I got so lucky with this one. But I'm going to hold onto this relationship for as long as I can! I'm too happy now with everything to want to change a thing.

And then of course we had to continue our horror-theme of the evening with this movie:

I'd never seen it, but Chris wanted to watch it so we went back to his room after the movies (and a very unsuccessful run at trying to get coffee...) and proceeded to freak ourselves out even more by watching this film. Once again, being the big puss that I am, I hid behind my eyes during the majority of the film and tried to burrow into the blankets next to Chris but he made me watch with him so that he wasn't the only one being so freaked out.

After that we kind of just passed out and ended up not waking up till about 1:30 today. But now he's at a car show and I'm about to go work out...with summer coming up I refuse to have the body that I have now and go out in a bikini. So. Harcore workouts for the summer starts today! Or well..it started yesterday, but I'm doing back to the gym again today to continue my routine. And I'm trying to drink a bunch of water as well every day..wish me luck on that one, that's one habit I'm going to have to get myself used to.

Anways. Hope you all have a beautiful weekend today and tomorrow...it's so nice outside, I wish I was at the greenbelt now instead of about to go workout. I can save that though for another weekend. Love love love to all of you! :) and go see Insidious if you can...I guarantee you'll jump.

Meow kitties, Moo cows, and the Movies:

My weekend? Awesome. And I'm going to bullet point right shmere in this blog just why it was so awesome:
  • drove to Beaumont on Friday with Chris...after a little over 4 hours of driving and several stops from car trouble (his car actually died in the middle of traffic going down the 610 loop in Houston..bad news bears when you're in the middle lane and your car just kind of stops...going...oooof), we finally made it to his house where I was met with lots of hellos and hugs from his parents and sister. I felt welcomed instantly :)
  • ate lots of seafood this weekend...lots of it. Even octopus! *gasp* I definitely went out of my comfort zone too seeing as I'm not a huge seafood fan at ALL, and so of course on  Friday night, the first night meeting his mom, what does she make for dinner? shrimp and crabcakes. Yes, I ate it all, and yes I enjoyed it...but talk about almost making a bad impression if I hadn't of eaten it! It was still all delicious - and Sat. night we went to C's old work and got some sushi and a seafood salad one of the sushi cooks made for us. It wasn't until after I'd taken several bites of the salad that Chris informed me that it was made with *drum roll please*...crab, fish, andddd OCTOPUS! Mmmm...tasty. Aside from being super squishy it really wasn't that bad...and both Chris and I were impressed at me for actually trying it too..I think me more so than him. But I do think that's going to be the last seafood I try for a little bit, at least for a couple weeks...
  • Kitties! So many kitties! Chris' family is a cat family, that's for sure - I've grown up with dogs all my life so it was definitely a bit of a change for me to be around 3 cats at once, but I think once Chris brings his cat up to his apartment this summer then I'll get used to them more.
  • Saw Insidious Saturday evening..for a pg-13 movie it really wasn't that bad. It had a bunch of scare parts that made you jump when you least expected it. I definitely recommend it as I haven't seen a good scary movie in a while and that definitely gave me a good scare.
  • Cows, cows, and more cows. I just had to throw that in there because we saw so many cows driving from Austin to Beaumont, Beaumont to The Woodlands, and from the Woodlands to Austin - they have the cutest faces. Anyways. That really doesn't have to do with anything other than the fact that I love the way cows' faces look...just sayin.
  • I GOT MY CAR BACK TODAY. And Chris got the see some of The Woodlands too, as well as grab lunch at Los Cucos with my parents - and he got to meet my mom too! It was just a big ol' family weekend these past few days, that's for sure. I feel like both our moms are very similar, and it was strange seeing my mom right after being around his just because their mannerisms are very similar. But all in all, everything went smoothly, and our drive back to Austin went easily as well.
All in all, the weekend was a good one. We got to see where Chris' parents were moving to this summer, into a beach house in Port Arthur - we visited on Saturday and took a walk through of the almost finished house, ready for them to move into at the end of May. His mom invited me to come down for the summer anytime we wanted, so I think we might be taking a few beach excursions this summer..I'm excited and can't wait for May 15th already!

Summer's approaching fast, and I've just got to get my head focused for these last few weeks of school. I'm so happy with my life right now though, it's hard not to be positive about anything, even school. I feel motivated and encouraged to finish the semester strong, so hopefully all works out well and this semester turns out a good one!

Cheers to a beautiful week ahead, I hope this past weekend was filled with love and memories for all of you wonderful friends, and that the week only continues to grow with light and love.
